I’m Nick. I run GCC when I’m not doing anything else. I’ll try to keep up the best I can here, but sometimes, you’ll just have to trust that I haven’t given up blogging. I’m currently living in Normal, Illinois with my groovy wife, Jenna. I have a soft spot for any song with a banjo and I strongly believe that Bruce Campbell is the best actor on earth. I am the administrative assistant to the director of SpreadTruth and as of May 2013 I will be the pastoral intern at Charis Community Church in Normal. I also write for a few other places; I write for Christ & Pop Culture weekly and contribute regularly to IRT-Tour.com; the mouthpiece for professional racquetball, along with some other online outlets now & again. I’m big on the role of the gospel in culture and I enjoy dialogue. Follow me on Twitter (@Nick_Rynerson) or email me (Nickrynerson@gmail.com
what to expect
GCC exists to build bridges and display the gospel. I hope to build bridges between folks who think that they have nothing in common. I want to provide thoughts from a perspective that both the Christian and the non Christian can hear and engage (not a simple task).
A few people have told me that they don’t really get to know me through the blog. That is somewhat intentional, I try not to make GCC too personal. For a few reasons: 1. I want GCC to be more about the material than my personality. 2.I’m arrogant, and I don’t want to give myself a public personal platform to be more arrogant. And 3. I am not great at writing about myself But with that said, I do plan on talking more about my relationships and personal experiences, that it may aide the blog.
On GCC I’ll post on a bevy of subjects. I love music, so naturally, I write about music a lot. I hope to bring you access to artists that you may not typically listen to, news on new releases and as much quality sound as possible.
I write about the gospel, because that is my first love. I don’t expect that you, as my reader, know what that is or believe that it is true, but don’t discount it’s importance in the existence of this blog. And out of my love for the gospel, I hope to share wisdom and thoughts that help the Christian and non Christian alike experience that great, wonderful gospel. No need to break down exactly what the gospel is in the ‘about me’ section, but be sure, GCC revolves around it.
Tied in pretty close with my love of the gospel is my love of the local church. I believe that it is vital, beautiful, divine and in pretty rough shape these days. So I want to spend a good amount of text applauding the church, innovating within the church and calling the church back to that ever-so-wonderful gospel
Aside from these big three, be on the lookout for resources to aide in your theological study, free stuff every now and again, book reviews from ever-so-kind publishers who send me free books, movie reviews and (hopefully more to come soon) some personal reflections.
Enjoy and participate!
hm, im the first comment on here.. makes me feel like a weirdo.

I wanna hear how and when and what led up to that decision cause i dont know that i saw it coming in high school–not to say that my high school behavior was any sort of model, just observing.
